Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt 27 years old at the time, he enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. He also appeared in The Killing, a drama show that was broadcast across the world. He then appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other highly acclaimed Danish drama series. He also played the lead role in Sherlock the series, a BBC drama in which was the character Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. In the American television show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen can speak fluent English, Swedish, German and Danish in addition to his native language. He has also acquired many accents. He has stated that he and his brother initially picked up English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
