Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with humorous rap tracks which dealt with the subject of sexuality and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood after she released an album of raps. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came via the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. In college, she studied the field of women's studies and journalism. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. She turned her attention towards music after she completed her degree. After gaining viral fame via the Internet, her My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the album she released, Yellow Ranger. Some other hits that went viral included queef, a body positive track, and the witty NYC Bitchethe hometown tour for $. The single that debuted was directly connected to Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. After a successful career as a musician, she decided to take on the character of actress. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
